By Road

Because the Lot flows diagonally across France, most motorways heading from the Channel Ports in northern or western France lead directly to or connect with those leading to the area (A75, A20, A62). The motorway journey from, say, Calais would take from about 7h30 into the heart of the Valley (keeping to legal limits) according to www.viamichelin.com.

By Air

International airports in/close to the area at Rodez, Bergerac, Toulouse as well as Montpellier, Clermont-Ferrand and Boreaux - with direct flight operated by British Airways, Air France, RyanAir (Rodez & Bergerac) and Easyjet. Domestic flights to/from Paris to Rodez, Aurillac and Agen.

By Train

TGV stations at Agen, Montauban, Toulouse, Montpellier, Bordeaux and Nîmes. Rail links between these and several towns in the area; good rail links with Paris.

Contact the local Tourist Boards (known in France as "Comité Départemental du Tourisme" or CDT for short) who are your best ports of call for more information about sites and events as you travel through the region. Following the course of the River Lot as it flows from east to west, the Tourist Boars are :
